With our own engineering firm Severfield Engineering Netherlands, we are leading the way within the Dutch steel construction industry. We design and engineer high-quality and sustainable steel structures for various market sectors. From the design phase, we actively think along and deliver smart, innovative solutions.
Besides Constructors, Detail Engineers and Project Engineers, the team consists of a Programmer and a Lead Engineer, who supervises the major projects. They take on the challenge of solving the most complex issues with each design, looking for smart alternatives and efficient solutions, saving you costs. With BIM, Building Information Modeling, all physical and functional characteristics of the structure are captured in a 3D model, into which each construction partner incorporates relevant information. With this integrated working method, we can solve any bottlenecks at an early stage and reduce failure costs.
Once the Constructor and Project Engineer have completed the calculations and model, they send it to the client for review. After they have processed the client's comments, the model is final. We subject this final model to a clash check. With this we check the welds, the connections and the size of the bolts, to make sure that the design is completely correct.
After the clash check, engineering colleagues create the workshop drawings and ensure the model is ready for production. The structural engineers also consider the assembly methodology in the design for safe and effective execution. They work out the assembly plans and, in consultation with Assembly, determine the phasing, which is the order in which the steel is assembled. Thanks to model sharing, all colleagues involved in the project can see the model. Finally, they create an IFC model, which our assembly teams on the construction site can work with from their tablets.
