Project Central Park competes for Construsoft Tekla BIM Award

The annual Construsoft Tekla BIM Awards offer the users of Tekla Structures a great opportunity to present their construction project to peers across Europe. Our project Central Park in Utrecht is one of the projects submitted in the category Commercial Projects. Commissioned by building consortium Westflank Noord – a partnership of Volker Wessels companies Wessels Zeist and Wessels Rijssen – we contributed to the construction of this office building.

BIM MANAGED CENTRALLY

BIM was managed centrally within the building consortium. All parties involved shared their 3D model via a Document Management System. The model exchange was based on the open standard IFC (Industrial Foundation Classes), with the BIM basic Information Delivery Manual (IDM) as a starting point. Verification and validation of the models took place every two weeks.

COOPERATION AND INNOVATION

The figures of Central Park listed: 

• 90 metres high office building
• an indoor park at 45 metres
• 23 stories
• 28,500 square metres office space
• 500 square metres catering space
• an underground five-story parking
• 535 car parking spaces and approx. 1,100 bicycle parking spaces
• BREEAM ambition: Excellent label.
