At Severfield, we believe that our role extends beyond the completion of projects; we also wish to contribute to the region in which we operate. Therefore, we have made a conscious decision not to send promotional gifts. Instead, each year our locations support local charities with a Christmas donation.
Our colleagues play an important role in selecting the charities. Every year, they are given the opportunity to nominate initiatives, after which a careful selection is made based on these submissions. This year, the colleagues who had proposed the initiatives also presented the cheques themselves, which made the presentations even more special.

The Rise Up Foundation is committed to creating a society in which everyone can live without poverty. The foundation wants to prevent children from going to school without breakfast or people from going to bed without dinner. Social exclusion, for example because families are unable to celebrate birthdays or do not have suitable clothing and shoes, is also an important focus area. To break this cycle, families in financial difficulty are paired with a buddy who provides personal guidance and support to help them achieve greater prospects and stability.

The Maassluis Food Bank assists residents who are temporarily struggling to make ends meet. By providing food parcels, the organisation supports families and individuals and contributes to combating food waste. The Food Bank operates according to strict food safety guidelines and is affiliated with the Dutch Food Bank Association.

The AK Foundation is a volunteer organisation based in Maassluis that provides humanitarian aid in Ukraine. The foundation focuses on the western Ukrainian region of Transcarpathia and supports people living in extreme poverty, far below the international poverty line. The AK Foundation operates on the principle that everyone who needs help should receive it, regardless of social or ethnic background or religious beliefs. Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the foundation has also been supporting refugees in the region through local partner organisations.
With these Christmas donations, we hope to make a meaningful contribution to the valuable work that these organisations do every day.
