Severfield has successfully completed a major phase of work at the Agratas battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset (UK). A major phase of work at the Agratas battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset, has been successfully completed with the structural steel frame now erected for the first principal building on site.
The project is one of the most significant industrial developments currently underway in the UK and will play a key role in strengthening domestic battery production to support the transition to electric vehicles and low-carbon energy solutions.

Working in partnership with Sir Robert McAlpine, Severfield is responsible for the fabrication, supply, and erection of the structural steelwork across the site, and the completion of the initial building frame marks a critical point in the programme.
Delivering a structure of this scale has required careful planning, close collaboration and a strong focus on safety, logistics and buildability. Our teams have drawn on extensive experience in complex industrial projects to meet the technical and programme demands of the facility, while coordinating closely with the wider project team.
As construction continues, Severfield remains fully engaged in delivering the remaining elements of the steelwork package and supporting the successful completion of this landmark development, which is set to become the UK’s largest battery manufacturing facility.
