In assignment of Ballast Nedam, Severfield Steel Contruction was involved in the renovation of the KLM ICA Lounge at Schiphol Airport.
The KLM Crown Lounge is located on the second floor of the terminal between the E and F pier. The lounge is provided with an extra floor, an outdoor terrace and a completely new interior. The number of seats went from 800 to about 1,400.
Added value
The integral approach of Severfield Steel Construction was of significant added value in the implementation of this project. Besides the 400-tonnes steel structure, Severfield supplied and mounted the roof and wall cladding and the floor system, consisting of steel plates. As a chain partner, Severfield was involved in the project at an early stage. The work took place in an operational working environment, because the lounge remained partly in use during the renovation.
