New business premises for Outdoor Gigant
On the business park 't Lochter III in Nijverdal, Voortman Design and Build and Voortman Steel Construction are working closely together on the construction of the new business premises for Outdoor Gigant. We have recently completed the 110 meter long roof construction for the storage of garden wood and are now assembling the steel structure of the workshop and showroom.
FAMILY BUSINESS
Outdoor Gigant, a family business from Twente, specializes in wooden terrace covers and related garden items. The range also includes garden furniture, fences, verandas, paving and playground equipment. Mieke van de Beek, owner of Outdoor Gigant, explains the reason for the new building: ”In recent years, our company has grown more and more and that is why we need a larger storage and show garden. At our current location in Rijssen we can exhibit six terrace covers; in our new showroom we have space for no fewer than 21!”
FROM DESIGN TO EXECUTION
The design for the new business premises was made by Bouwburo Jos Bloemendal. Voortman Design and Build took care of the technical development of the design. Mieke: “We preferred a local builder for the construction of the new building. Right from the price setting we had the impression that Voortman had the project fully under control. They converted the architect's 2D drawings into a 3D model, which we discussed weekly during the work preparation. This gave us good digital insight into our new building before the start of the construction.”
CLOSE COORDINATION PLANNING
The new Outdoor Gigant location will open in early 2023. Mieke: “There is still a lot of work to do in the coming months, such as the construction of the terrace covers in the show garden, which will start from November. We are in regular contact with the project team to coordinate the planning and implementation. We experience this personal contact as very pleasant.”
