In assignment of building combination Campusplein, consisting of VolkerWessels companies Visser & Smit Bouw and Boele & Van Eesteren, Severfield Steel Construction was involved in the construction of the new building of the university VU Amsterdam.
Education, science and business come together in the building. The atrium on the ground floor is a lively place with space for catering facilities and shops. The teaching rooms are also suitable as theatre and cinema rooms. Under the building is a parking garage for approximately 600 cars and 1,600 bicycles.
For this project Severfield not only supplied and assembled the 2,100 tonnes steel structure. We have laid the SlimLine floors and also engineered and assembled the steel-sheet concrete flooring systems, including the inspection hatches.
