We participated in the setting up of the Willink square in Emmen. The existing parking garage was extended and equipped with two new entrances. Above the parking garage, commercial spaces, restaurant facilities and a hotel were realized.
Next to the steel structure, we also mounted the hollow-core concrete slabs. Since the steel structure has many fixed-moment connections, the number of wind braces has been reduced to a minimum. This leaves the commercial spaces open, with a flexible lay-out.
One of the main challenges of this project were the logistics. Space on the building site was limited so there was only space for one construction crane. In the overhang over the entrance of the parking garage HE1000M-profiles have been used, which consist of two parts of 18 tonnes each because of the reach of the crane.
